Tata Consultancy Services Selects Agitar Software as an Innovation Partner
TCS will Leverage Agitar’s Technology to Help Customers Improve Java Development Agility, Quality, and Costs
MUMBAI, India and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., September 18, 2006 – As part of its Innovation Initiative, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the leading global technology solutions company, announced an alliance with Agitar Software, the leader in enterprise developer testing solutions in Java technology.
TCS will use, promote, and integrate Agitar’s innovative solution to automate and manage developer testing for Java projects for its global customers. TCS has more than ten thousand developers working on Java projects globally, so access to the latest technologies such as Agitar’s will help improve the quality, cost, and timely delivery of projects for the company’s global customers.
The two companies will initiate joint go-to-market strategies to target the multi-billion dollar market in Java development projects worldwide. Currently, the innovation partners are piloting the solution with two leading customers of TCS.
Agitar’s breakthrough automation accelerates developer unit testing, an approach where development teams test their software code as they write it. The Agitar solution helps developers discover and eliminate defects early in the software lifecycle, enables better software design, and simplifies integration and QA, increasing the predictability of software development and lowering costs.
"The world’s leading enterprises need high quality software with fast and reliable delivery times, and TCS is identifying and integrating new technologies and innovations into our solutions to meet this requirement," said Dr. Gautam Shroff, VP, Technology Programs and member of the Corporate Technology Board at TCS. "TCS sees developer testing as a key way to improve software development and increase the value we can deliver to our customers. Over time, we have developed a rich suite of tools and technologies to achieve these objectives. Agitar’s solutions complement our suite of methods and tools and fit well with our own philosophy," said Arun Bahulkar, Principal Consultant and Member of Corporate Technology Board at TCS.
"TCS has built its reputation by being focused on quality, predictability, and customer satisfaction. They already set a high bar for software quality," said Jerry Rudisin, CEO of Agitar Software.
